Building Department Project Research

SELF-SERVICE LINKS TO BUILDING DEPARTMENTS

More Resource Links

As part of any building project, we advise our clients to do “Due-Diligence” or factual research on your property prior to designing your project

Building Department: Most Building/Planning Departments have online resources, such as:

  • Building Guidelines

  • Local Zoning Ordinances

  • Handouts, Forms, and Applications

  • Scheduling of Virtual Project Meetings

Assessors Office

We also recommend you contact your local tax assessors/records office and request your “Build History Record”. This 2-3 page print-out is a homeowner’s best tool for identifying all structures on a property. Only the Homeowner has the ability to order their Assessors Build History, and the information will be needed for drawing your Site Plan (required on all projects).

Pro Builders Design Group Offers Due-Diligence as part of your design project or as a stand-alone service.
